I created an application in Facebook and I need to supply 2 URLs: HTTP and HTTPS, in order to integrate with my site.

I created the site and some Pages that will show up in the Facebook app.

Now, I don't know how to set the HTTPS url to point to the same HTTP page.

the site: www.xanderadvertising.com

the Facebook URL that must be accessed both through HTTP and HTTPS: www.xanderadvertising.com/facebook/

The app is on the Facebook page.

Any ideas how can I achieve the HTTPS stuff?

Symphony doesn't care if you request a page using SSL or not. What you need is to get it working on the server! :-)

And how am I supposed to do that? Seriously, I haven't got a clue about it ...

If you have a shared hosting account, it may not be possible. If you have a virtual server or a dedicated server, the steps are like this:

  • buy an SSL certificate (for one domain or one subdomain or "wildcard" subdomain, whatever)
  • install the certificate on the server (some providers help you with that)
  • configure Apache to use the certificate (see above — your provider may help you)

I strongly suggest to ask your provider first. Some providers really help you (from buying a certificate to "few-clicks-install" routines), some don't. Do not buy a certificate unless you are sure that you can use it with your hosting contract.

Thank you for recommendations.

You are welcome!
