Unable to access Admin page

I've just tried installing Symphony for the first time on my local machine to try it out. I'm running Mac OS Lion and the installation went smoothly. I can access the template page, but when I try to log into the admin interface, I get a 404.

I've checked the .htaccess file and it seems to be fine. I can access the login page at /index..php?mode=administration, but once I log in, I got the 404.

I've checked my apache config file and mod_rewrite is on.

Does anybody have any ideas about what might be missing?
