Symphony.

I get the following error in Symphony 2.2.3 when trying to use a non-breaking-space (alt-Space on a Mac) in a simple text input field:

loadXML(): Input is not proper UTF-8, indicate encoding ! Bytes: 0xE2 0xA0 0x62 0x65 in Entity, line: 594

Even though a simple fix is to replace the particular space with a normal one, I wonder why this causes an error in the first place, since it perfectly makes sense to use this character in regular text input fields.

Might this be an issue, or is there a sensible explanation?

Can you please double-check the Symphony version? I can't replicate this.

Check check! It is 2.2.3, though updated from 2.2.1, in case this makes a difference.

It should not make any difference (if you updated correctly). But still... it works for me.

Can anybody else confirm this issue (using Symphony 2.2.3)?

I can't get this one to happen either unfortunately. Does the error occur on the frontend or in the backend?

Strange! The error appears on the frontend. Will try and check if there is anything else involved.

I’m not able to reproduce the error anymore either. There was some whitespace at the end of the problem-string as well. Seems like there was some mystical UTF-interaction there … please close this thread.
