Is there anyway to create a field that allows you to upload as many files as you want in a single section entry?

If not is there an another way of achieving this affect such as linking sections together?

You can use a Select Box Link to relate sections together. If you download Symphony from this website and install you see the “default workspace” which is set up as a blog. You’ll see an “Articles” section, and each entry has some related “Comments”. You reach the comments by clicking the number hyperlink in the “Comments” column.

This lets you create a one-to-many relationship (one article, many comments) which would work for your example.

However the workflow isn’t great, since you create the “parent” entry first, then have to go back, click through the “0” hyperlink and add your “children” (images). This has been solved with the Mediathek field which should do just what you need it to do.

Create your two sections as before (e.g. Articles and Images) but add a Mediathek field to your Articles section and point it to the Images section.

There is also the Subsection Manager, which is the follow-up extension to the Mediathek field. I’ve been using it for a while and it’s pretty sweet.

Yes, that’s what he is saying. (But he has to admit that he is using the current beta for the Pompodium ensemble.)

(I’ve been using it on a few sites and have yet to have a client come back to me screaming, why shouldn’t I be using it?)

As more of a power user that’s cool, but I didn’t want to recommend to a newer user 2.0.8 and Subsection Manager when neither are “officially” released.

I’ll be honest, I’ve been using 2.0.8RC3 and Subsection Manager for a while now and I’ve found them to be pretty stable.

The only complaint I’ve gotten so far is how Symphony isn’t very IE friendly which is something I’m not too fussed about.
