There is a long list of “open” bugs in the issue tracker. Would it be possible that one of the admins cleans up the list closing all the issues that have been solved in the meantime?

By the way, any chance the issues tracker sees an update in the near future covering things like email notification, highlighting of new issues and comments, better handling of closed issues (they currently disappear quietly while being moved to the closed issues list).

Thanks a lot!
Nils

How attentive of you :)

Unfortunately, it’s since been pushed a little further down my priorities list, but still it should be sooner rather than later.

Many of the issues that have a fix committed I’ve been reluctant to close in case the fix isn’t satisfactory. Perhaps that’s not the best solution though…

In the long term, my thinking has been that we need:

  • Type. We’ve got to be able to filter between real bugs and other stuff like feature requests, questions, and the like.
  • Status. Once new issues are committed, we’ve got to be able to flag them as ‘Accepted’, ‘In progress’, ‘Fix committed’, ‘Closed’ and so on…
  • Track. Need to be able to assign issues to release tracks, so we can see what’s outstanding for 2.0.*, what’s pushed back to 2.1, etc.
  • Finally, better conversation tools. Highlight recently updated issues. Email notifications. RSS feeds.

Anything else?

Thanks for the update. Just a small addition: besides “closed” and “accepted” an “invalid” note would be great. As the issue tracker is build with Symphony would any community contributions be helpful?
