Niklas, what’s your Symphony and Mediathek version number?
… after reinstalling and mixturing with sections i still get this error message when trying to upload.
What do you mean by saying “reinstalling and mixturing”?
Removing Mediathek-field from Sections for example…or mainly.
Now I have it working - but it feels like playing rugby with a ballerina. Where every click could lead to a error message.
And by the way. Before Mediathek “remembered” which files were attached to which section entry, and displayed them nicely. Now it don’t.
I uninstall all extensions, and then enables them - voila! Mediathek is f***** up
I’m sure there is a general issue with your site or your server as a site normally does not crash spontaneously. Your Mediathek trouble is certainly related to field id changes that are a result of the uninstall process. You should check your Mediathek settings and see if it still matches the correct section and fields. Don’t forget to resave your section and data sources.
Uninstalling extension will always remove the related database tables for the extension but the connections stored in other extension’s database table will not be updated. So if you are troubleshooting problems with extensions like Mediathek or Selectbox Link, you should not uninstall extension but try to disable extensions first. This will keep all relation ids intact.
The general problem is that disabling field extensions that relate to a Mediathek field will always break your Mediathek fields as not all needed data will be present anymore.
And by the way. Before Mediathek “remembered” which files were attached to which section entry, and displayed them nicely. Now it don’t.
There’s no internal reason why Mediathek should stop working besides a misconfiguration or an external JavaScript issue if it worked before. Do you get any JavaScript errors in your console?
If your site is being hosted by a company, check that in the ‘off time’ since you’ve left the project that the server requirements haven’t changed, ie. PHP5.2.* being upgraded to 5.3.
Check your permissions. What version of Symphony are you running? Have you updated it recently? Have you updated any extensions recently?
Well, now at least it works. My gutfeeling on the other hand are not good. I feel the system is about to collapse at any time :P
The file upload field on the “New entry” page looks messed up now - for no reason (?!).
I really want to like Symphony, but it’s hard :P
@tempooo - What version of PHP 5.2 are you running on your server? Also, what version of Symphony are you using 2.0.7 or 2.0.6?
Also, would you mind posting some screenshots so we can see why…
The file upload field on the “New entry” page looks messed up now - for no reason (?!).
Also, what browser are you using with Symphony?
That sounds like this bug: http://symphony-cms.com/discuss/issues/view/242/

Nope! I downloaded these two files, but with no success. I guess I have one more lovely bug to look forward to.
The problem is only visual - but still annoying since it has appeared for “no reason”. I haven’t changed anything.

I’m trying to understand and develop with Symphony - but now it’s like any other CMS, but worse.
I left the project with a good setup. When I go to work and continue:
Maintenance mode isn’t working (it’s showing the maintenance even if logged in). Debug mode isn’t working
I uninstall all extensions, and then enables them - voila!
Mediathek is f***** up, after reinstalling and mixturing with sections i still get this error message when trying to upload.
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/web32474l/domains/niklasthorin.com/public_html/extensions/mediathek/fields/field.mediathek.php on line 339
Why is this? Why so random? It worked like a charm yesterday.
