I don’t think you can actually make that show in the xml, but you can use the position() function in xslt, which will return a number from 1-20 (if 20 results are returned) based on the location in the xml document.

I have designed a section for photos going into a slide show. I would like to be able to leave photos in the section and randomly pull 20 out of x number of photos. I would like these 20 photos to have an id # from 1 - 20 after being pulled for the xml. how do I best do this? Thanks in advance.
