Wouldn’t it be great for novices to place a (saxon xslt2) transfomer on this site? Just like markdown has a dingus too. There isn’t much to find online except here

Wanna build it? ;)

well each install has it doesn’t it? Isnt it just a matter of having a stripped demo install.
BTW why don’t we have a demo install that resets with a cron every hour or so?

Well first of all, Saxon + XSLT2 isn’t available out of the box, of course. But even if we were to use Symphony’s built-in XSLT capabilities, it would still take a fair amount of work to design and implement a (safe, secure) interface for this and integrate it into the site.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a cool idea. I just don’t know if/when the team would get a chance to do it. Which is why I asked if you were volunteering ;)

Demo system could be useful, I’ll ask A&A about that.

There’s XSLT 1.0 transformer on the W3Schools site.

Also, if anyone wanted to try out XSLT without installing anything, they could just use a modern browser: Browser support for XSLT

On that note, this is a good blog about in-browser XSLT development.

Demo system could be useful, I’ll ask A&A about that.

Off topic: that “A&A” part made me laugh :)

This might be of some use to you? Granted, it’s more for XPath then XSLT.
