Hi Rat,
Could you be more specific? Are you referring to outputting onto your final page using XSL, or do you mean outputting a parameter into the param pool from a datasource, so you can access it through the XSL?
sorry,
i mean outputting more parameters from datasources
something like that: $ds-post_author $ds-post_id
I think the only way is by making multiple datasources. It would be quite handy to be able to select more than one though…
Word on the street is that this will make it into the core at some point — it’s been requested several times and isn’t something an Extension can take care of.
In the meantime, you can try customizing the data source manually:

it is working!!!
thank’s guys, thank you craig, it’s exactly what i was looking for :D
@ratdoesit As you modified a data source manually don’t forget to return false on allowEditorToParse function. Just to prevent the cat eats your code!
turning it off prevents /symphony admin to overwrite my settings?
turning it off prevents /symphony admin to overwrite my settings?
Exactly.
Is this going to be in the core of Symphony 2.2? If not, it would be great if it could.
Nope, it hasn’t been considered for 2.2. But perhaps one day ;-)
one day? Like in 2.2.1? :-P Or isn’t that going to happen? And correct me if I’m wrong, but when I was trying Symphony 3 a couple of months ago, I believe it is possible in Symphony 3. Right?
I believe it is possible in Symphony 3
It will be, yes.
one day? Like in 2.2.1?
Hehe perhaps. Depends how long S3 takes I guess.
It will be, yes.
Hurray!
Depends how long S3 takes I guess.
I thought it was due for the end of this year?
No that’s Symphony 2.2, Symphony 3 will be at least another 6 months, as I’ve read recently on this forum from someone in the know…
Just a quick question re: outputting multiple parameters from a DS. Is this on the roadmap for 2.3 or 2.4 now that S3 is not going to be 'done'?
@Nickdunn Awesometastic!
To re-cap: it is planned for 2.3
As the issue says, it has been implemented into integration already and requires testing and a few UI tweaks to better show parameters.
I'm actually using it extensively in another project (diff applied to a 2.2.3 install) and it's proven pretty handy already. I imagine this will be a big timesaver for a lot of developers and really simplify some things.

is there any way to output more than one parameter?
for ex: id and author
