I tried to install on my local wamp server. I got this message:

Symphony needs the following requirements satisfied before installation > > can proceed.

XSLT Processor Symphony needs an XSLT processor such as LibXSLT or Sablotron to build > pages.

Symphony requires PHP to have been compiled with XSL processing enabled (–with-xsl). Maybe this will be helpful?
