Is it right that Authors are allowed to change anyone to a Developer? That is not very safe?

This was true for older versions. In 2.0.5, there have been some securitiy changes, as pointed out in the blog entry.

[EDIT]: I did not care too much about this possibility. Any author can ruin your website, your business, your reputation anyway… So you have to trust them.

@michael-e I cares about this because who will mantain the website is the client and they can make mistakes.

rainerborene: Thats why he said “did not care”. It has been solved a few weeks ago, all new versions do not allow authors to do that anymore.

I think that Symphony 2 has evolved massively in the latest releases, and I appreciate any security efforts (and many of the new features). However, playing the devil’s advovate (like in this thread) is useful from time to time…
