Again I am getting this error. Media Temple insist it’s not them and I tend to believe them as we have run some tests and there are no problems. I also have more than one domain on media temple and I don’t seem to have any issues.

I am using 2.0.4.

What information is useful? Could it be something in my .htaccess file?

Hi Nick,

Could you give some context to the error? What page(s) give this error? Any events involved? Extensions? Do you have access to the PHP error logs?

Sorry,

Yeah when I am uploading an image to a DS through the admin interface, it gives me the error.

Right, just enabled Server side log reporting in MT. Went to upload the image again, and this time it’s gone through.

Anybody have any experience of this? MT will not help me because it’s 3rd party.

Sorry to say but it sounds like an MT-error. Symphony isn’t using anything else besides PHPs file upload functions (if they don’t work, its the hoster’s fault).

Isn’t anything you can possibly host there 3rd party? MT are just renting server-space, -traffic and -maintenance to you. :-)

Well just conveying what they tell me.

This is a total guess, but I wonder if it has to do with permissions. If it has to do with temporary files, could it have to do with permissions for the manifest/tmp directory? I may be totally out in left field, cause I don’t know what goes on this directory. Just my first thought.

Well what I can’t understand is that it now works, whereas before it didn’t.

I have to say I agree that it’s an MT problem. I will go back to them again if it happens later on, I can show them the error log if it goes wrong again.

Have you made sure the directory has enough disk space? I’ve seen this happen a couple of occasions with client’s share hosting enviornment before.

@Allen,

Yeah they have eliminated that as an issue as I have more than enough space.

It’s weird because it happens now and again, but it’s not ideal and I have a few clients on MT and they may have an issue with it also. I’m fairly sure though that it is a MT server issue, almost 100% sure. However, they won’t have it because they can’t replicate it.
