As the manager of CMS Design Resource, one of my questions has always been “why doesn’t Symphony have a news/blog page”? I typically grab an RSS feed from most of the CMS’s I follow and slap it into Google Reader so that I can know whenever they update. Is there a reason that this news channel doesn’t exist? Is Symphony 3.0 actually in active development?

Just wondering…

Chaotic Pattern had been the place where Symphony updates come from. We do the occasional developer podcasts and XSLT tutorials. However truth be told, every Symphony development member are engineers or designer who prefer to spend their time working on Symphony (or the odd client work).

In the interim, nickdunn and I are working on an article aggregation section for this site which will grab Symphony news and articles around the web in a convenient location.

We’re looking at possibly hiring staff some time down the track to help with the marketing and community aspect of Symphony. After which, we’ll definitely put up a news/blog section.

By the way, awesome site :)

Nice to find you heard heard my cry for an aggregation section Allen

Wow, I had actually forgotten about that from last week. Well reminded…

Cool, good to know! Thanks!

Btw of marketing etc., does symphony have an official twitter account?

I saw one, but it doesn’t appear to have any activity on it yet: @symphonycms

Probably, Allen’s account is the most active: @chaoticpattern

And the internet wins again. @symphonycms will be the official twitter account. We’re waiting to get a bunch of things lined up before we start using it.
