Closed#138: Add native support for modification dates on entries

See: http://symphony-cms.com/community/discussions/30443

Both creation date (or system date) and modification date should be captured for all entries by default. As far as output, not sure whether they should always be included as attributes (as per the suggestion in the discussion above), or simply included in the list of fields available for DS output.

Another related discussion:

Date Created, Date Modified and Author as System values on entries

As well as attributes on the entry element I am also suggesting that these should all be filterable in a DS (as System ID is currently), and available in the Output Parameters list (as System ID and System Date are presently).

This will mean less of a reliance on the Date and Author field types. It makes sense for this to be baked in to the core. Perhaps appending it to the entry attribute would be an option in the “Included Elements” list. See my additional checkbox in the integration branch to make adding the “counts of entries in related sections” attributes on an entry node optional (which saves a ton of database queries).

Tagged set:

  • Date Created output param
  • Date Modified output param

This is a sizeable addition, so shall be left for a post-2.0.7 release.

Looking at 2.1 for this.
